The following chart lists the number of P5 and G5 teams had seasons during the past 43 years that would have earned a top four finish in 1 to 43 seasons under the Power Points System and the AP poll. For example, 37 P5 teams had seasons that would have earned a top four finish in all 43 seasons with the AP poll and Power Points System. Corresponding ranking between the two methods are used to determine the AP poll's results. For example, the AP's 1 team in 1978 gets the same value as the PP's #1 team in 1978.
